This week's most share-worthy resources from around the interwebz
Happy Friday!!!
Hope you have been enjoying the holidays and are looking forward to a new year.
I’ve been kicking it in Blacksburg, relaxing, and enjoying the time to myself while the fam is traveling.
While I do appreciate their company, having that “me” time has been lovely.
I’ve also been very much enjoying not writing for publication here.
Taking a break from that has allowed me to focus more on writing about personal matters.
Similar to writing to share here, as I write about one subject, I discover others that I’d like to write about.
There’s something about putting what’s in my head and heart into words that brings me so much satisfaction.
If you’ve never considered writing, you might give it a shot.
Not only is it a great way to clarify your thoughts and feelings, but it also might improve your speaking skills.
That may just be my experience, but I could easily see how crafting ideas into written/typed words could translate into becoming more skilled at crafting them into spoken words.
Regardless of how or why all this writing and reflection has benefitted my life, it's been quite fun.
I am still driven to find the right words to say what I want to say, but there isn’t any pressure that might come from considering how others might perceive what I write.
The only audience is me, and that allows me to be a bit more candid and vulnerable than I might be otherwise.
Oh, and there’s no deadline.
The words come as they come, and there’s as much freedom to continue expanding or revising as necessary (or desired).
You might find adopting a similar habit of reflection worthwhile in getting to know yourself.
Even a few minutes a day might be enough to get you on your way toward a lifelong habit.
